Last September, we had the opportunity produce a wedding on the ice at Verizon Center in Washington, D. C. before the Capitals took on the Buffalo Sabres in a pre-season game. There were a lot of details that went into it, and recently we relocated this video of a wedding that took place at center ice DURING a hockey game.
The Portland Winterhawks hold an annual Teddy Bear Toss game in which fans throw teddy bears onto the ice following the team’s first goal of the game. Because of the time it takes to clean up the bears, someone figured they’d fill the time with a wedding, and that’s what you have here!
The goal was scored 2:52 into the first period, so you know the ice was still a little slick, so we give tons of credit to the bride, Lulu for walking across the ice at that early stage of the game.
