Metro DC DJs & Entertainment, along with SportsAnnouncing.com are happy to announce a partnership with the Washington Wheelers and their “Try Blind Hockey” Day sponsored by USA Hockey and supported by the Washington Capitals.
Try Blind Hockey is giving people who are legally blind the opportunity to skate, play hockey and enjoy the feeling of playing hockey. All visually impaired people are welcome to attend as players as the Wheelers will be providing all equipment, ice time, coaching and lunch. The organization is seeking sighted volunteers to help out.
“We are honored to be part of such a wonderful event that will spread the love of hockey to more,” said Jarrod Wronski, owner of Metro DC DJs & Entertainment and SportsAnnouncing.com. “Within a minute of being asked to help out, we were on board.”
Registration information for both players and volunteers can be found on the event’s Facebook page.
The event runs from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. and will be similar to an event held in Chicago. The video is below:
