UPDATE: Since we first posted this, someone decided to take the video down off the internet. Most likely the groom for how embarrassing the situation was. But the basic gist of this video was a groom who was standing, swaying and eventually grinding on his wife in suggestive fashion. It was hard to watch.
This video, apparently shot by George Street Photography, created a lot of fuss, and actually got us a notification of Copyright Infringement. We guess the videographer, or someone associated with the company, didn’t want it to be seen as well. We’re sorry if we offended anyone with this video and if we’d known that it was George Street Photography that shot the video, we would have given them credit because that’s the right thing to do. We encourage any photographer who shoots weddings or other events that we’re part of to submit photos to us to use and to include their watermark. That way, they get publicity on our site. We even do our best to give them credit and link back to their site.
But since the president of the company felt it necessary to threaten a lawsuit instead of simply saying, “Hey, I’m the President of George Street Photography and XYZ has asked to have the video taken down and any images from it.” We would have said, “Cool, we’ll do that,” then write an update to the story and then possibly mention George Street. We’d also talk and have a good chat, because it’s what we do!
Oh my, there are just some things that you don’t want to see or others who drag things out too long. This is one of those, and going off feedback from a lot of our brides, and brides-to-be, this is why they will not be having the garter removal at their wedding.
Ummm, what was going on there? Well, a lot of alcohol factored into this. One of the best pieces of advice I got before getting married was, “don’t drink on your wedding day.” Here’s a good reason why.
Now, that’s not to say you have to go completely sober, if you want to drink after the reception has started, go for it, have fun. But remember, there are things you have to do. And in this age of video, make sure you don’t overdo it until all your responsibilities are over.
Also, have fun with the garter removal, at Brandon & Angela’s wedding, Brandon did a dance and built it up, creating a great removal. Filled with laughter and applause, plus little from the DJ. Have fun with your wedding, but if you think you might do something like this, grooms, PLEASE DON’T DRINK!
