The Today Show’s Jeff Rossen produced a piece that aired today which insinuates there is a wedding markup among wedding vendors that put DJs in a bad light and we’ve received calls because of it. Metro DC DJs & Entertainment does not charge more for weddings.
You can view the piece below with more after the jump:
While some companies may charge more for weddings or bar/bat mitzvahs than other events such as an anniversary, milestone birthday (21st, 30th, 40th, etc.), corporate events, summer picnics, etc., you can be assured that we do not.
For events like the latter, there is a lot of preparation, planning and coordination that goes into the event before the big day. We also understand that your event is the most important event to you. We do a lot of preparation with your requests, the elements you would like to have for your event, and research.
Very rarely does a DJ from Metro DC DJs & Entertainment simply need to show up and play. It’s because of this, along with the experience of the DJs who work with us, their professionalism, their attention to detail and equipment, and their demeanor that we’re happy to suggest one of these fine entertainment professionals for your event.
Metro DC DJs & Entertainment is a different DJ company. All of the DJs work with us, not for us, are industry professionals who have experience in running special events. Most of the DJs we work with have government clearances and background checks already performed. If we feel a DJ could not pass a background check, or may participate in activities that could affect their availability to give your event the attention it deserves, we don’t recommend them. The safety and enjoyment of our guests and clients is of paramount concern and we aim to provide professional DJs for any event that wants a fantastic DJ and have your guests talking about it for years to come.
You will never have a high school student show up to your birthday, wedding, or picnic and get paid cash under the table because it’s a learning experience. Younger DJs who are recommended to us from other DJs or former clients undergo a vetting system in which we listen and watch them perform without their knowledge and ask others in the industry of their thoughts. Their equipment is also expected to be well maintained and free of eye sores, wires are to be kept as clean looking as possible.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and we hope to have the opportunity to entertain you soon.
